During Croatia Open 2019;
Sajjad Mardani bring home the Bronze medal



Sajjad Mardani stood on the third place at the end of the Croatia Open tournament, and Farzan Ashoorzadeh stepped out of the competition due to injury and failed to secure medal.

According to the Public Relation's department of the Iranian Taekwondo federation, the Croatia Open 2019 was a two day tournament which took place in Zagreb on 9-10 November 2019 with participation of 313 athletes.

Farzan Ashourzadeh (M-63 kg), fought against Canada's athlete in the first match, defeating Canada 34-2 at the end of the second round, then defeating Italian athlete 7-0. Farzan then had to fight with Spanish athlete but stepped out of the competition due to injury and failed to secure medal.

After a break and at the end of the second round, Sajjad Mardani (M+87 kg) defeated the German athlete (24-3), then faced Brazilian, and in the third round while was ahead 4-2, was fired because of injuring the opponent.

The Iran Team is led by Fariborz Askari as the head coach and Ali Mohammad Boshagh as the coach.
Croatia Open 2019 was a G1 one and the gold, silver and bronze medal winners garnished 10, 6, and 3.6 point in increasing the Olympic.
