17-year-old Iranian girl stands second in 2019 Manchester World Taekwondo Championships



17-year-old Iranian taekwondo athlete Mahla Momenzadeh grabs the silver in the 2019 World Taekwondo Championships which is underway in Manchester, England, with the participation of 975 athletes from 150 countries from all over the world.









Momehzadeh reached the final on the first day of the event after overcoming her five opponents, namely: AinurUashpay( KAZ), Galina Medvedeva(RUS), Jordin Smith(GBR), Lena Stojkovich(CRO) andXueqin Tan(CHN).
The opening final of the world championships drew Mahla against defending world championship, South Korea’s Jae YoungSim.

The Iran's female squad is led by MahrooKomrani as the head coach and FatemeSafarpour and ReyhaneFouladi as coaches.
