British Taekwondo announce changes to Club Dan Grading Protocols

British Taekwondo is pleased to announce significant changes to the structure and process of Dan Grading across the organization.

Dan Gradings from 1st to 3rd Dan will now be enabled at Club level, led and examined by a panel with a 6th Dan Instructor and two 4th Dan Instructors as a minimum. These club gradings will be supplemented by two National Dan Grading sessions led by British Taekwondo.

Applications for 4th Dan and above will continue to be examined at the British Taekwondo National Dan Gradings.

British Taekwondo Board Director and Member of the Technical Committee highlighted that ‘we are aware that our instructor base has changed dramatically over the last few years with more and more achieving higher grade status. We hope that the flexibility and opportunity this now affords will benefit all within British Taekwondo including our instructors, their clubs on their grading journey’.
