6th European Taekwondo Clubs Championships
The 6th WTE European Taekwondo Clubs Championships wrapped up Friday 9 February, with the final awarding ceremony for the senior categories ending the festivities.
The championships conducted for the first time in Istanbul since their launch, faced a surprising development on the number of participating clubs and competitors with the total numbers of athletes summing up to 267 cadets, 318 juniors and 428 seniors.
A number of well known names of the Olympic Taekwondo also made their presence, such as Tijana Bogdanovic (SRB) and Milica Mandic (SRB), since Clubs Championships were a great opportunity for a general rehearsal before Kazan 2018 in May and since we are half-way the 31stOlympiad, the athletes preparing for Tokyo 2020 have already set the championships to be present.
Trophy results:
Male – Seniors: RUS (2gold, 1 silver), KAZ (2gold), TUR (1 gold, 1 bronze)
Female-Seniors: SEB (1gold, 2silver, 1bronze), TUR (1gold, 1bronze), UKR (1gold, 1bronze).
