Azad University- the Champion of the 1st edition of National Clubs League, under the World Team Championships rules
Tehran Nov 2017—at the end of the 1st edition of National Clubs League that was held on the basis of the World Team Championships rules, Azad University team stood on the 1st place.
150 taekwondo athletes in 12 teams participated in the 1st edition of National Clubs League and Azad University team stood on the first place and will represent IRI Team in Abidjan 2017 World Taekwondo Team Championships.
Eight (8) Teams per gender division will be invited as well as mixed gender team format: Selection of the teams shall be made as follows. 2.1 The WT will invite top two placed team of male and female teams from Baku 2016 World Taekwondo Team Championships, and top four placed teams of male and female teams from Muju 2017 World Taekwondo Championships as well as one recommended team of male and female teams by WT technical committee.
Abidjan 2017 World Taekwondo Team Championships is G-2 ranking event.
To obtain ranking points, an athlete must compete at least once during the championships – 1st Placed team: 20 points – 2nd placed team: 12 points – 3rd placed team: 7.2 points – 5th placed teams: 4.32 points.
