IRI TKD President paid a visit to WT President



Tehran Sep 2017— on the occasion of International Taekwondo day, IRI TKD President paid a visit to WT President.

Seyed Mohammad Pouladgar- IRI TKD President & ATU Vice- President departed to South Korea to participate in International Taekwondo Day ceremony.

During the mentioned ceremony, "Pouladgar" paid a visit to Dr. "Choue" - WT President and presented him with a special gift as a remembrance of the mentioned day.

Meanwhile, "Pouladgar" paid a visit to "Seongtae Kim"- Chairman of the Taekwondo Promotion Foundation in Taekwondowon.

“Taekwondo Day” has been celebrated around the world on Sep 4th, every year since 2006, celebrating when taekwondo became an official sport in Summer Olympic Game at the 103rd IOC Session in Paris in 1994. Last year, the 2016 Taekwondo World Peace Festival was held in the prestigious City Hall Plaza in central Seoul, Korea. The event was co-organized by World Taekwondo and the Global Taekwondo Support Foundation for Peace and Unification (GTSF).

This year’s festival was a significant upgraded. It will be a three-day event that begins on Sep 2nd, with a Peace Concert in Seoul. The following day, Sep 3rd , will be marked with a ”World Peace Parade,” a taekwondo demonstration contest, a dynamic kicking competition and a team competition in Seoul. The final day, Sep 4th, will conclude with a “Taekwondo Day Celebration Ceremony” at "Taekwondowon", in Muju, Korea.
