The Russian Taekwondo Team must obtain 4 quotas for OG-2020

Aug 2017

The Russian Taekwondo Team must achieve 4 Olympic quotas for the Games of 2020 in Tokyo, said the president of the Taekwondo Union of Russia, Anatoly Terekhov.

The Russian Taekwondo team won seven medals (1gold, 4 silver and 2 bronze medals) at the 2017 World Cup, which was held from June 24 to 30 in South Korean Muju.
"We set the task to win at least four Olympic quotas. We need to expand the competition within the team. This season has shown that our competition has increased, "Terekhov told journalists.
In each weight category for men we have 2-3 athletes in the Grand Prix series. The top 6 athletes in Olympic ranking will be qualified to participate in Tokyo 2020.
