An Overview of Annual Performance of Iran Taekwondo Federation



Iran Taekwondo Federation passed a glorious year which brought about many victories in different age categories in Continental and World Championships.

Female Junior athletes won the second place in the Junior World Championships and male Junior team gained the fourth standing in this event which was held in Chinese Taipei.
Iranian Junior athletes also won three quotas for Youth Olympic Games in the Qualification Tournament which was held concurrently with Junior World Championships.
Kimia Alizadeh, Mahdi Eshaghi and Danial Salehi were three representatives of Iran in the Youth Olympic Games held in Nanjing that won 2 Gold and 1 Bronze respectively.
Iranian male and female Cadets succeeded in grabbing the first place in 1st World Cadet Championships held in Azerbaijan with 7 Gold, 4 Silver and 1 Bronze medal.
The three-member Paralympic team of Iran stood on the second place in 5th World Paralympic Championships which had gathered 111 athletes from 37 countries in Russia.
In 3rd Asian Poomsae championships, held in Uzbekistan, Iran national male and female teams won the title of Asia with 65 Gold, 3 Silver and 3 Bronze medals.
Iran's delegation seized 9 Gold, 13 Silver and 11 Bronze medals in World Hanmadang Championships.
The senior athletes had a very tight schedule because they had to participate in several events to gather Olympic ranking points.
Iran male team won the title of Uzbekistan with 3 Gold, 2 Silver and 1 Bronze while the female team succeeded in winning 1 Silver and 3 Bronze medals.
Senior team received more points in Tournaments of German Open, Korea Open and Fujairah Open.
Iran male representatives also won 4 Gold, 2 Silver and 7 Bronze in three editions of Grand Prix.
In the Asian Games, male athletes won 4 Gold medals and female athletes grabbed 2 Silver and 1 Bronze medal.
Iran male team stood on the third place of the World Cup that had gathered the best teams from 10 countries.
In the conclusion of final Grand Prix and World Cup, Farzan Ashourzade received the title of Tsunami due to his eye-catching performance.
At the end of 2014, Iran has 4 representatives among 6 highest Olympic ranked athletes as well as 6 athletes among highest 36 Olympic ranked athletes.
2015 is a marathon for senior athletes because it is the year before Rio 2016 Olympic Games which is the last opportunity for collecting points and receiving direct quota of Olympic Games.
At the end of this year, Seyed Mohammad Pouladgar and Zahra Sarvi were chosen as the best sport managers in Iran and Fazan Ashourzadeh received the title of the best male athlete of the year.
Seyed Mohammad Pouladgar was also appointed as the Head of Ethics Committee of Iran Olympic Committee.
The League Organization held First class Poomsae league of males and females, Premier league of Poomsae for males and females, male Cadet league, Children league, First class league of Junior males and females, Premier league of Junior males, Youth league, First class league of youth and senior females, First class league of youth and senior males and Premier league of youth and senior males.
