Alizadeh's Historical Medal



Kimia Alizadeh, -63 kg, won the Gold Medal of the Youth Olympic Games 2014 after overcoming the Russian athlete 10-7 in the final round.

She could enter the final round by defeating the representatives of Colombia 12-2, Belgium 2-15 and Cameroon 23-0.
This was the first Gold medal of Iranian female athletes that Kimia, the flag bearer of Iran delegation in the Youth Olympic Games 2014, could register in the name of taekwondo.
Also, Mahdi Eshaghi, -48 kg, and Danial Salehimehr, -73 kg, won a Gold and a Bronze medal respectively.
Mohammad Reza Zavar was the head coach of the male team and Neda Zare was the head coach of the female team in this event.
