The First Gold Medal of Iran's Delegation



Mahdi Eshaghi, -48 kg Taekwondo athlete, could win the Gold Medal of the Youth Olympic Games after defeating the representatives of Thailand, France and Chinese Taipei.
2nd Youth Olympic Games began on 17 August 2014 in Nanjing, China. In his first competition, Mahdi Eshaghi defeated the representative of Thailand 20-12. In his second match, he could overcome the French athlete 16-0 and in the third match, he outperformed the representative of Chinese Teipei 17-9.
In the first Youth Olympic Games, which was held in 2010 in Singapore, Kaveh Rezaie and Mohammad Soleimani won a Gold medal and a Silver medal for Iran's delegation.
