Iran gained the second place in the World Para-Taekwondo Championships



Iran delegation could achieve the second standing of the males' category in the 5th World Para-Taekwondo Championships for the first time.

111 athletes from 37 countries participated in this event which was held on 20-21 June 2014 in Moscow. Russia became the champion, Iran gained the second standing with 2 Gold medals and 1 Silver medal, and the third place went to Azerbaijan.
Iran's achievement in this event was according to the following:
Mahdi Pourrahnama, -75 kg, K44: Gold Medal
Asghar Azizi in +75 kg, K44: Gold Medal
Mahmoud Jafarzadeh in -75 kg, K42: Silver Medal
Hossein Modanlou accompanied the team as the head coach.
