Interview with Pouladgar

Pouladgar: I hope that I.R. Iran Taekwondo Federation will have an eye-catching place among the ATU Award receivers.
The president of I.R. Iran Taekwondo federation is hopeful that Iran will be one of the countries that receive the ATU Award of the Bests of the year. Seyed Mohammad Pouladgar said, ‘’ Holding such events by ATU would motivate the athletes, coaches and referees to have a more efficient performance’’.
He added, ‘’Introducing the best federation, athlete, coach and referee of the year is an innovative idea but I have some suggestions for ATU regarding the criteria of choosing the Bests of the year and will present them in the meeting of Jakarta’’.
He said: like AFC, ATU should choose the best coach and athlete based on their performance during the year and for choosing the best federation, they should consider all the activities that federations do for the development of Taekwondo, beside the results that they have achieved in the Continental and International events.
Iran has introduced Gholam Hassan Zolghadri as the best coach and Mohammad Bagheri Motamed as the best athlete to ATU based on their performance, to be compared with the other candidates that have been introduced by the other federations.
Pouladgar is hopeful that Iran will be one of the countries that receive the ATU award of the Bests of the year, but he says, ‘’ We should not forget about Korea, which is our powerful rival in Asia’’.
